FreshyMap Snow Report Application Unveils New Tools for Visualizing Data

Super excited to share with all all of you here at Weather5280 the release of FreshyMap 2.SNOW. The release has a completely reworked backend, and has added a ton of new features that will open the door for many new tools we have in the works for mapping and visualizing weather across the U.S. and the world. Our focus is the powder, so if you're in search, we hope you find FreshyMap everything you've been looking for and more.

Real-Time Surface Wind
Inspired by this map that came out a few weeks ago, what I am maybe most excited about with this release is the near real-time wind animation we have added to FreshyMap. This snapshot of the GFS surface winds across the world gives a great overview of the current weather pattern. Wondering where all the snow is out west? The massive ridge is keeping us high and dry, while spilling record-breaking cold into the east. Luck will be changing for the northwest this week, but it appears as though central California just won't catch a break.

Real-Time Photos from Instagram
Another fun addition are the new "photo bubbles" -- real-time images from Instagram with photos tagged to the selected resort. If you're heading to the hills this weekend, tag some photos on Instagram and watch them come alive on FreshyMap!

Forecasting Goodies
For longer-range forecasting needs, FreshyMap now offers advanced features like a 5-day weather forecast card and on-map forecast visualization bubbles. Forecasts are generated from FreshyMap's stream of snow report information, and while all of us here know that forecasts aren't perfect, we're certainly doing some things at FreshyMap to try!

Definitely check out all the new features when you get a chance, and leave us some feedback on your experiences!
