No real changes to the forecast. The snow is here, as is the cold, and frankly it's about time.

At our station in Denver West snow has been on and off since about 5am. As of 10:30 am we had recorded 1.5" of fluffy snow, with light snow continuing.

Up north we've seen a persistent snow band deliver upwards of 5" of snow to parts of the Fort Collins area, with good snowfall continuing there at this hour.

This heavier band of snow will continue to drag south as the day progresses. By this evening the HRRR model shows the heaviest band pushing over Denver (or perhaps a bit north of town) with heavier bands of snow beginning to organize over southern Colorado as well:

By later this evening we see the heavier snow shift to southern and southeastern Colorado. As we mentioned in last night's update, jet dynamics will keep us on our toes with this forecast, and continue to show the potential for Colorado Springs to see a heavier snow band this evening as well. Here's this particular model's forecast for 8pm tonight, showing snow ongoing across the northern urban corridor, but heavier snowfall taking over to our south:

In all we think most of our forecast totals will verify. Boom potential continues to look greatest across Denver's northwest suburbs and points north (Westminster, Boulder, Loveland, Fort Collins), while those on the south and southeast side have lower potential. Models are pretty consistent in this depiction, with the better jet dynamics skipping the Denver/Castle Rock corridor a bit then picking up again south.

Monday morning's commute should be taken slow. With slick roads, plan on it being a slow trek to work/school Monday morning across much of Colorado.

As for the cold? Well, it's here and not going anywhere for a couple of days. Highs Monday in Denver will be in the teens again, with overnight lows in the single digits Monday and Tuesday morning. Snow showers remain in the forecast into Monday, so expect a that morning rush to take a bit extra time for most of us.

Mid morning temperatures across the region are COLD, with widespread teens and 20s and cold air continuing to push from the north:

Meteorologist Tom Niziol shared this fun graphic this morning showing the origin of our cold airmass, about as far north as it can come from!

How much snow have you seen at your place?
