We near the end of the year and with that we will close the books on a mostly
dry month for much of the Central and Western US, although that is not to say a
few systems won't cruise through.

During the next couple of weeks we have chances for wet weather, the better
chance of higher totals is to happen for the Eastern US.

Next two weeks of precipitation:

Again, that's a long-term general idea of precipitation. Any incoming system
that is able to create more energy than what is currently forecast can and will
overproduce totals versus what is shown above.

In terms of above or below average moisture during the next two weeks, most of
the Central US is close to or drier than average:

What would potential snowfall be if the moisture outlook holds?

Per temperatures, there will be occasional sharp drops in temperatures with a
few cold fronts. The first will be around Christmas. A potentially stronger
temperature change will hit by New Year's Eve.

As of the data run to date, January appears warmer and near to drier than
average for most of the Central US. We will discuss that again in the upcoming
January outlook.
