Season's First Measurable Snow for Denver Means Has Contest Come to a Close
For the third year in a row, Denver's first measurable snow has come before the median first date of Denver's first snow, October 18th. This year, there were 33 contestants that guessed the correct date –– many of those entries coming as the storm began to look more sure (the contest didn't close unti

Seventh Annual First Snowfall Prediction Contest Starts Today!
Even as we cook through what is to date Denver's hottest September on record... the first snowfall of the season is quickly approaching, with the average date for the city's first measurable snow coming in just over three weeks from today. Month to date the average temperature at Denver International Airport has been a warm 70.7°F, some 6°F above average for the period. With more warm weather in the forecast, it looks like 2019 may very well set a new record for September, beating out the previ

Fourth Annual First Snowfall Prediction Contest Starts Today!
It's hard to believe, really, that September on average sees 1.0" of snow in Denver. Nonetheless, it is indeed getting to be that time of year again. Snow is certainly not unheard of in September, with the city'

Well, we had to work extra hard to get here this year, but the first measurable snowfall contest has finally occurred!
