Denver weather: Afternoon and evening storms, plan accordingly
There's another dose of storminess to move through later Monday, which will include potential impact on your school pickup times, commute, or evening sports practices. Here's a look at the overall chances for storms across the state today: The focus is on the Front Range Mountains and along the I-25 corridor. Here's a timeline to help guesstimate the impact at your spot. The difference between these storms and those yesterday is the speed. These, in theory, have a bit faster pace to them and

Thankful for water
May is Denver's wettest month of the year, on average, and after a near-record dry April we are off to a great start, at least across Northeast Colorado. Here's a map showing May precipitation totals through this morning. More rain is falling on the Front Range and urban corridor this morning, so we will add to these totals in many places today and tonight. As we discussed heading into the month, the pattern has obviously favored northern Colorado, with drought-stricken southern Colorado rem

A look at rain and snowfall totals as impressive streak of wet weather continues for much of Eastern Colorado
The best part about our most recent round of wet weather was that it included a good portion of Southeast Colorado, which has largely missed on many of the recent events that have delivered a wet spring to the northeastern portion of the state. As we've covered on many occasions in recent weeks, the state of the drought across the state hasn't improved much outside

A wonderful soaking rain for much of East-Central Colorado
Sunday's system delivered some much needed moisture to many of us across the region, but left crucial regions of the state high and dry. Denver officially picked up 0.94" of rain on Sunday, bringing the month-to-date total to 1.56", just 0.05" shy of average for the month. At nearly 1", the airport was fairly representative to what most locations saw across the greater metro area and immediate surrounding areas. Some folks reported a bit more than an inch, others a bit less, but a good soaking

That’s a whopping 28 degrees below average for the date, and a far cry from Seattle’s actual highs Wednesday in the upper 80s. We were also the coolest major city in the entire country. The soggiest days of

Flooding Rains Ease, but Here Comes the Heat
Our drought-reducing progress will go on pause for a while as warmer and drier weather returns to the region. Temperatures over the next week will climb above normal levels for the state as high pressure builds in. The best precipitation chances over the next week look to be in the mountains, with very little over northeast Colorado and the Plains.
