Shortly after 12pm today a strong severe thunderstorm rolled off the foothills west of Denver producing several reports of a tornadoes across the greater metro area, and bringing heavy rain and hail to the metro area. In all, there were 10 tornado reports today though 10:00pm according to the SPC, nine of these were from Colorado. Severe Thunderstorms Hit Denver Metro, Eastern Plains, to Repeat Tomorrow
An active week of weather kicked off with a bang today in Denver as a severe thunderstorm rolled across the city during the early afternoon hours. The storm would go on to produce a tornado warning over the southeast metro area, and severe thunderstorm warning clear east to the Kansas state line this evening. Rain changed to snow across the urban corridor early Sunday morning and continued for many through early Monday. The National Weather Service has dropped the Winter Storm Warning for Denver, but one continues for locations south and southwest of Denver through midday. Snowfall totals from this storm ranged from just a dusting to nearly 30 inches across Colorado. Storms continue tonight and into tomorrow across southeast Severe weather continues across the southeast tonight after another round of awful severe weather. According to the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) there have been 44 preliminary tornado reports today.
