Quite a potent cold front Wednesday evening! Check out the satellite loops below and the significant push of dust which moved across eastern Colorado and Western Kansas.

This front also featured a quick round of showers and thunderstorms for northeast Colorado... to go along with that 40-50 mph gusty winds for many. Quite the raw and uncomfortable evening to say the least.

For today we'll see mainly 60s and 70s – and a bit of a breeze will remain. Some lingering mountain snow showers will taper off by later in the day. We'll touch up temperatures a bit more on Friday and Saturday. By Saturday afternoon, we begin to get under the influence of our next storm system. That front edge could bring enough mojo with it to spark off some showers/storms Saturday afternoon.

We look to have more solid storm chances on Sunday as the main upper-level wave begins to kick further east into Colorado. There's still some uncertainty in terms of the track/strength of this system... but generally it looks to take a quick swipe... nothing like the slow mover with saw earlier this month. Could we see some changes? Potentially... but the pattern looks to favor moving, rather than grooving with these storms right now.

The EURO is pretty stingy with it's moisture across northeast Colorado... but as the system begins to eject into the plains, it begins to get it's act together over Nebraska – that area certainly looks favored at this time. We should see some mountain snowfall too.

Unfortunately, with the storm system passing through, the WIND is going itself known. 30-45 mph wind gusts kick back up headed into Saturday, but especially Sunday – ho hum... Any hope later this month? Can't say so. We're also getting to the point where these organized storm systems will become fewer and farther between.

At this point, our next major pattern shift for moisture might have to be the monsoon... but that's for a later post. Hope y'all have a good end of the week and good weekend. We'll let you know if there are any updates for the upcoming storm!
